The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) published an official notification on 16th June 2025, announcing the recruitment of Forest Rangers in the Assam Forest Service, under the Environment & Forests Department, Assam. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their online applications through the official APSC web portal. The application window is set to open from 21st June 2025 and will close on 20th July 2025.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Forest Recruitment
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Science or Engineering from any recognized University. This degree must include at least one of the following subjects – Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications/Computer Science, Engineering (Agriculture/ Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, or Zoology.
Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 38 years old as of 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, and 5 years for SC, ST(P), and ST(H) candidates.
Residentship: The candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.
Employment Exchange Registration: The candidate must be registered with a District Employment Office of Assam.
Small Family Norms: Candidates are required to submit a declaration in Form-A regarding “The Small Family Norms” while applying for the Forest Department Recruitment.
Application Fee: The application fee is ₹297.20/- for General candidates, ₹197.20/- for OBC/MOBC candidates, and ₹47.20/- for SC/ST/BPL candidates. The payment must be made through the official web portal using the available online payment methods. The payment can be made through Net Banking from any bank or using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Cards or UPI Payment.
